THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF MILLY PILAND OF GATES COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA

In the name of God amen {I} Milley Piland of Gates County and state of North Carolina being advanced in years but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to be granted God for the same Calling to mind the mortallity of my body and Knowing that it be appointed for all flesh to die do make and ordain this my last will and Testament that is to say first of all I give and recommend my sould into to (sic) the hands of Almighty God and as touching such worldly estate when with it has pleased God to bestow on me in this life I give my ceserns and dispose of the same in the following maner and form.

First my desire is that all my debts to be paid and funeral charges be paid by my executors.

Item I give and bequeath unto my son Reuben Piland one heifer and sow pig and Ewe and four gin to his part of my property

Item I give and bequeath unto my son Mills Piland fifty cents to his part of my estate

Item I give and berqueath unto my son Jesse Piland fifty Cents to his part of my estate

Item I give and bequeath unto my son Seth Piland fifty cents to his part of my estate

Item I give and bequeath unto my son Asey Piland fifty cents to his part of my estate

Item I give and bequeath unto my son Elisha Piland fifty cents to his part of my estate

Item I give and bequeath to my sons Isaac Piland & James H. Piland one mare and one work ox and one fether bed and furniture one white back cow and one pide ox and all the rest of my property that is not named to them and their hears and their assigns to have and to hold for ever and this to be equally divided betwixt them. And I hereby make and ordain Isac Piland my Executor to this my last will and Testament In returns whereof I this said Milley Piland have hereunto set my hand and seal this 18th day of January in the year of our Lord God one thousand eight hundred thirty two. Signed, sealed published and declare by the said Milley Piland Testator as per last will and Testament in the presents of us who were present at the time of signing and sealing thereof

State of North Carolina
Gates County } February County Court, 1832. The last will and Testament of Milly Piland deceased was exhibited to enter Court and was proved by the oaths of Thomas Haggard and Willey Carter two of the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. Isaac Piland the Ect. therein appointed Came into Court and was duly qualified for that office and prayed an order for letters testamentary therein which was granted.
