Shared note	"The oldest son Elisha was probably named after Reuben's brother who died a few years earlier. He was a soldier in the Civil War (July 1861- March 1865) and lost an arm. On 28 January 1868 he married Nancy Eure. Nancy died in childbirth with her first child, Louis Thomas. Elisha subsequently married a widow, Cornelia Harris, on 23 May 1874. She had a child, S. C., from her earlier marriage. Elisha's family is developed from census records of 1870, 1880, and 1900 and other records."
