PYLAND PASSES AWAY IN HOSPITAL[:UND] (from Hearne, Texas newspaper): John Wesley Pyland passed away in a Temple hospital on May 29th after an illness of several weeks at the age of 55 years, eight months and two days. Mr. Pyland was born in Bremond on September 27, 1897 and had been a Hearne resident since 1918. Mr. Pyland was known and liked in Hearne business circles having been associated with Maris-Carson Drug Store, Heartfield Funeral home and other business ventures. Funeral services were held in the chapel of Heartfield Funeral Home last Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. R. L. Brown officiating, assisted by the Rev. T. Miller Smith. Interment followed in the Norwood cemetery. Pallbearers were R. E. Cornforth, N. L. McCarver, H. M. Dotson, Olen Wallace, Melton McNair, Glenn Smith, Gilbert Wallace, and George T. Smith. Mr. Pyland is survived by his widow of Hearne, one daughter, Miss Maxine Pyland of Hearne and a brother, Ray Pyland of Sacramento, California. Lived at 1609 Cleveland, Waco, McClennan county, Texas in 1920.
