[UND:]DEATH CALLED W. B. PYLAND TUESDAY [:UND](from Hearne, Texas newspaper dated April 10, 1931): Hearne is sorrowing with the W. B. Pyland family in the passing of W. B. Pyland, whose death occurred at the family home in East Hearne at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. While Mr. Pyland had not been in robust health for some months, the beginning of his serious illness dates from January 1st of this year, when he suffered a stroke of paralysis while at his place of business on Third street. Funeral services were conducted at the home Wednesday afternoon by Dr. E. W. Solomon, pastor of the Methodist church, of which decedent was a member, with Rev. A. A. Wagnon, former pastor of the Methodist church here, and Rev. Charles E. Bullock, pastor of the Baptist church, assisting in the rites. Following the services, the Masonic Lodge, of Franklin, with which decedent affilliated, followed the funeral car of the Hearne Mortuary, which bore the body to Norwood Cemetery, and gathered at the graveside for the impressive Masonic ritual. Many friends of the family were in the funeral procession, and numerous floral offerings gave silent testimony of the esteem in which the departed was held. William B. Pyland was one of five children born to Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Pyland, natives of Tennessee. His birth date is given in the family record as December 8, 1875. With his parents, he came to Texas in early manhood. The family settled at Bremond, and it was there that Mr. Pyland was married, July 17, 1895, to Miss Nora Lee Russum. Mr. and Mrs. Pyland lived for some time in Bremond and later moved to Wheelock, where they resided for seven years, leaving that point for Hearne twelve years ago. Since removal to Hearne, Mr. Pyland had engaged in the grocery business, at one time in association with L. T. Self and later alone. He was for four years member of the board of aldermen. Surviving are the wife, two sons, J. W. Pyland and S. R. Pyland, and a small granddaughter, Rhea Louise, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Pyland. Relatives of Mr. W. B. Pyland Attend Funeral Relatives and friends from out-of-town here for the funeral of W. B. Pyland, were: Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Pyland, Waco; Mr. and Mrs. Sam Pyland, William Dow, Miss Rosa Dow, Marlin; C. C. McCollum and family, Mrs. Belle Dellinger, Bremond; Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Pyland, Mrs. Claud McCormick, Franklin; Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Love, Mrs. Henry Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. John Wallace, Mrs. Claud Arnett, Dave Arnett, Wheelock. MASONIC RESOLUTION: Resolutions of Respect - In Memory of Brother W. B. Pyland Who Died April 7, 1931. Once again, a Brother Mason, having completed the designs written for him on life's trestle board has passed through the portals of Eternity, and entered the Grand Lodge of the New Jerusalem and hath received as his reward, the white stone with the new name written thereon. And, Whereas the All-wise Merciful Master of the Universe has called from labor to refreshment our beloved brother, and having been a true and faithful member of our beloved Order, therefore be it Resolved, that Patrick Lodge No. 359, A. F. & A. M., of Franklin, Texas, in testimony of our loss, be draped in mourning for thirty days, and that we tender to the family of our deceased brother our sincere condolence in their deep affliction and that a copy of these resolutions be sent the family.
