Obituary - The Houston Chronicle - April 2, 1996 [UND:]PYLANT[:UND] ERNEST C. PYLANT 87, passed away Sunday, March 31, 1996 in a Pasadena hospital. Mr. Pylant had been a resident of Houston and Pasadena for 46 years, was a member of Christian Temple Assembly of God, served in the Royal Rangers as an Aide-de-Camp, was head of Men's Ministries of the Assembly of God South Texas District, was Printer of the Church News for 17 years and was a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Naydean S. Pylant, Pasadena, daughters, Gloria Clowes, Long Beach, Ca., Lutretia Reynolds, San Antonio, Ernestine Robbins, North Hollywood, Ca., Sammie Ruth Hughes, Livingston, Jean Wortham, Pasadena, Judy Williams, South Houston, Joe Nell McGowan, Newton, Tx., sons, Robert S. Pylant, Sebree, Ky., Wyman C. Pylant, Mission, Tx., David Love, South Houston, sister, Doris Knight, Lawton, Ok., as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday April 3, 1996 at Christian Temple Assembly of God, 9701 Almeda-Genoa Rd. with Rev. O. C. Bates officiating. Interment will follow at South Memorial Park Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home after 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 2, 1996. Age 83, Lawton - Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday in Calvary Assembly of God with Rev. Byron G. Elmore and Rev. Lloyd Grubbs, officiating.
Mrs. Knight died Thursday at her residence.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home.
She was born March 9, 1926 in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to A.H. and Myrtle Phoebe (Marsh) Pylant. She grew up in Ardmore and was a graduate of Ardmore High School. She married Guy Delbert Knight on November 15, 1947 in Ardmore. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1996. She had worked for Civil Service at Fort Sill as a secretary / typist but was primarily a homemaker. She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God and taught Sunday school and had served as the children’s church coordinator.
She is survived by seven sons and daughters in law, Jerry and Nita Knight, Lawton, Frank and Sue Knight, Lawton, Steve and Sherri Knight, Lawton, Greg and Marsha Knight, Mustang, Oklahoma, Tommy Knight, Mike and Carol Knight and Kent Knight, all of Lawton; a daughter and son in law, Karen and Joe Cunningham, Lawton; 12 grandchildren, Cheryl, Lorie, Aimee, Ben, Jason, Natalie, Silas, Brandon, Joey, Matthew, Sarah and Kassie; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Vernell Piker.
Several brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Assembly of God, 2402 NW Bell, Lawton OK 73505.
