They did something to it, sent it back, three days later - there it went again! Fred happened to drop by the office that morning. "Trouble?" he ventured. "Plenty!" says we. "Let's see," says he. Result? Fixed! A product of Lake City, Arkansas and with three years of Arkansas State College under his belt, Fred has been wearing a bluejacket since October 1942. Just prior to his enlistment he was a Consolidated Character - but felt his place was IN the service and not AROUND it so took the pledge on the 18th. Likes it fine! In 1936 was affiliated with the Royal Typewriter Company, service and salesman. Married his childhood sweetheart in 1941. Says he "don't get around much any more." Repairs approximately $500 a month worth of work - for FREE, yet! Hobbies - horseback riding, hunting, tall stories. Ambition - get back to the farm and have a small house beside the road and - as Fred puts it - "be a friend to man." Not such a bad ambition, at that!
