Shared note	Obit: The Florida Times-Union, Jacksonville, Florida. 17 May 2000. PYLANT James S. Pylant, 81, passed away May 15, 2000, at his residence. He was born in Atlanta, GA and resided in Jacksonville for 51 years. Mr. Pylant retired in 1988 after being employed with Sea-Land Container, Inc., for 28 years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army; a member of Friendship Advent Christian Church, and the International Longshoremen's Association, Local #1408. Survivors include his wife of 55 years Norma A. Pylant; son and daughter-in-law, Stuart and Jane Pylant, Lutz, FL; daughter and son-in-law Alicia Anita and Billy Jimenez, Jacksonville; three grandchildren, Kristen M. Pylant, Dawn Luke, and Joshua Jimenez; two brothers, Robert Emory Pylant and Marion F. Pylant, and Ellis R. Pylant (deceased); three sisters, Eleanor J. Lavender, Margie Gandy, and Betty Ann Edenfield. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, May 19, 2000 in the chapel of Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Rd. with Rev. Allan L. Meuter and Rev. Robert Yates officiating. Entombment will follow in Arlington Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
