RESOLUTIONS OF RESPECT At the regular weekly meeting of Greenville Lodge No. 86 Knights of Pythias last night the committee on memories appointed at a previous meeting reported the following resolutions memorializing Brother Knight W. H. Lasater: Whereas, It has pleased the Grand Chancellor of the Universe to call from earth and his knightly labors our beloved brother, W. H. Lasater, in the pride and strength of a vigorous manhood, and the very beginning of a successful and useful life. And Whereas, It becomes us as a body to pay a suitable tribute to his memory, and to record the expression of our departed brother: therefore, Be it resolved by Greenville Lodge, No. 86, Knight of Pythias, duly assembled, that in the death of Bro. W. H. Lasater the community has lost one of its most worthy citizens, one who by his genial temper and affable manner has endeared himself to all with whom he became associated, either in business or social relations; that this order has lost one of its most trusted and true knights, a brother whose intercouse with his fellows was a daily exemplification of the teachings of our fraternity, and one whose place will be missed and mourned by all valiant knights; that his family has lost an affectionate and devoted husband and father, whose loss no earthly comforter can replace, and we devoutely commend the stricken loved ones to the giver of all good with our prayers that His mercies and richest benedictions attend them through life; that our lodge room be draped in mourning for 30 days; that these resolutions be spread upon the minutes of this lodge and a copy sent to the bereaved widow, and that the papers of Greenville be asked to publish them. H. T. Arvin, G. M. Rucker, Lee H. Johnsey, Committee. |
