WILLARD UPSHAW - Willard Upshaw, 79, of 2010 Dana, Pocahontas, died at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center, Jonesboro, Saturday, Jan. 8, 1994. He was born Dec. 31, 1914, at Dalton, a son of the late Albert Lee and Ozella Melissa Miller Upshaw. He was a veteran of World War II and a retired rural mail carrier. He is survived by his wife, Cona Jean Pace Upshaw of the home; a son, Bill Waldron of Huntsville, Texas; two daughters, Mary Pace Shannon of Medford, N.J., and Peggy Jo Fender of Pocahontas; a brother, James Upshaw of Dalton; a sister, Mildred Washington of St. Louis; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Pyburn Street Church of Christ with Carroll C. Trent officiating. Burial followed in Masonic Cemetery with McNabb Funeral Home in charge. Grandsons served as pallbearers. |
