[:TAB:] Carolyn Lee Gillis Pyland, 51, of Abilene died Friday.
[:TAB:] A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 U. S. Hwy. 277 South, with Deacon Paul Klein officiating. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church with Monsignor Timothy Murphy officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
[:TAB:] Mrs. Pyland was born in Abilene and was a 1961 graduate of Abilene High School. She attended McMurry University and Texas Tech.
[:TAB:] She moved to Dallas in 1966 and was employed by Hitachi-Denshi America until 1991 when she returned to Abilene. She was administrative assistant for the Abilene Mental Health Mental Retardation office. She was a Catholic.
[:TAB:] Survivors include two daughters, Lesley Pyland-Watson of Abilene and Corrie Elizabeth Pyland of Dallas; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Gillis of Hamlin; two sisters, Bernice Landrum of Abilene and Barbara Jones of Abilene; two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
