PILANT of Pulasky, county of Giles, state of Tennessee, Lawful Attorney for us in our stead, to demand, sue for and collect and receive all sums of money and demands owing or payable to us from the estate of GEORGE HANEY. 17 November 1866. (Mary Jane Pilant formerly Mary Jane Haney) (Giles County Chancery Court, Woodruff Files A thru G, 1830-1900, Vol 1) Lewis Bird and Wife vs. Luther M. Pilant. Harriett Bird wife of Lewis Bird was a daugher of Harriet C. Goodwin, dec'd. Harriett was a grand-daughter of William McGrew, dec'd of Bedford County, Tennessee. Copy of Deed between George W. McGrew and Lewis and Harriet Bird 1854 Deed Book "X", pages 70 and 71. Lewis Bird died intestate leaving widow Harriet who was living in Shelby County, Tennessee, 1871. Two children William and Lucy Bird, who with their mother moved to Grayson County, Texas 1874. Birds owned large Lot #27 in Town of Pulaski. Luther Pilant died 1867. Widow Caledonia, children: Mary Virginia, Luther, Caledonia and Robert Pilant. "Limestone County after Appomattox 1865-1870": page 28 - 500 acres of former Clay Stinnett land assessed to L. M.
