Shared note	The Bells originated before 1720 in Cecil or Talbot County, Maryland whence many of them removed to Philadelphia County sometime before 1739. Accompanied by many of his kin, Thomas Bell removed to the Shenandoah Valley in 1741 or 1742 and thence to Carolina. "Abstracts of Wills, Edgecombe County, NC 1733-1856" - Williams & Griffin: Bell, Thomas - Jan 8, 1761. July Ct., 1763. Wife & Extx: Martha, use of plantation, also residue of estate during life or widowhood. In case she should marry I give her an equal share with my children: Caroline, Priscilla and Brittain. Gr.
