Shared note	Houston went to the state of Washington and worked as a wood chopper. Before the winter was over he was appointed U. S. Marshall and served almost two years. He caught a wagon train to Hood, Oregon and there took a train back to Missouri. After he got back to Missouri, he worked the Almartha to Wilhoit route. He married Mary Harley in the winter of 1903. They moved to near St. John, Kansas where they worked on a farm for a Mr. Kippe. Houston and Mary came back to Ozark County in 1906 and bought a place that joined the Turkey Creek place where they lived until 1923. They then moved about a mile west of Noble and lived there until 1951. They sold that farm and etired in Ava. Mary was the daughter of James Harley who lived at Wilhoit. James came to Ozark County following the Civil War.
