Newspaper clippiing (no date or identification) found in Sylvia Rogers Caldwell's scrapbook:

<p>"Last Sunday while Bertram Rogers and a son of W. E. Murphy were bathing in the pond on the R. V. Sapp farm northwest of Rhea, from some cause, probably cramps, the Rogers boy was drowned. The Murphy boy, as soon as he saw that something was wrong with Bertram, started for help but before he could get help and find the boy he was dead. This occurance comes as a great shock to the community as Bertram was a boy that was well liked by all who knew him and had spent his entire life in the Rhea neighborhood. The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of the entire community in this their hour of trial."
