Wife, Mary Mapp, plantation whereon I now live and land thereto. Following Negores: James, Jill, Dick, Bristol, Will, Tawny, Jack and Jack from whom I purchased from estate of William Mapp, dec, Randol, Tom, Ransom, Lucy, Jinny, Big James Hannah Violet Fanny Lillie tamer Sarah and Doll during her life or widowhood to be used at her discretion also give unto wife one hundred dollars and after her death or marriage the above property (money excepted) to be disposed of as follow:
Item: give to son, Jeremiah - names of slaves- (smudged by age)
Son, James Mapp, land and plantation whereon I now live and three Negroes, tom Jac & Doll, one feather bed and furniture, one corner cupboard & furniture, one walnut oval table, six chairs, one chest and looking glass, also saddle & bridle & a foal that my mare Sal is now big with, but should foal not live then the mare to be put to a horse again and raise one for him but if son James dies without lawful issue, then said plantation is to be given to son Jeremiah and his heirs forever and balance of his portion to be equally divided among sons & daughters.
Item: daughter, Nancy, two Negroes Jack and Sarah, feather bed & furniture also one horse colt known by name of Mark. If she dies without issue the same to be divided among rest of children.
Plantation whereon I now live to be kept in good repaiar until son James arrives to age of 21 years & that no more land be cleared and my Executors do well & truly attend to same.
Item: Beloved daughter Elizabeth Smith, Negro girl named Fanny - her increase to her and her heirs at my death as part of her legacy.
Item: To daughter Polly Smith, one Negro named Bristol to her and her heirs forever as part of her legacy.
Item: To daughter Susannah Asten, one Negro girl by name of young Tamer to her and her heirs.
Item: to daughter Sarah Jackson, one Negro woman named Violet and her increase.
My will is that the above legacies willed to my daughters named Elizabeth Smith, Polly Smith, Susannah Asten, Sarah Jackson receive the same ___my deceased. After death or marriage of wife, Mary, Negroes not already willed be equally divided among sons John Mapp, Littleton Mapp & Robert H. Mapp. Also stock among John Mapp, Littleton Mapp, and Robert Howson Mapp. Sons to pay unto daughters Elizabeth Smith, Polly Smith, Susannah Asten, and Sarah Jackson.
Item: Money which I have in possession together with money due me be equally divided among children John Mapp, Littleton Mapp, Robert H. Mapp, Jeremiah Mapp, James Mapp, Elizabeth Smith, Polly Smith, Susannah Asten, Sarah Jackson, and Nancy Mapp. Appoint son John and Robert H. full and sole executors.
