One day, year unknown, he was unloading a railroad boxcar when the load shifted and fell on him. He died of the injuries the next day. Ruby and their daughter, Ruby Helena New, returned to Iredell. Later Ruby married Ervin Moore in 1930. Ruby Helena New was never adopted by Mr. Moore, but was raised as his daughter. Later she married a Kuykendall, and she died several years ago. She is buried near Port Arthur. |

Information from Byron Loader, son of Ruby Pylant and Jay Gould New, Jr: Ruby had told him that they were living in San Angelo where her husband, Jay Gould New, Jr, was employed.
