W. W. Pylant
Funeral services for W. W. Pylant, 83, member of the Lincoln County Court from the Flintville district for eighteen years, who died Sunday morning at 6:45 at the local hospital following an operation Saturday, were conducted Monday afternoon at 3:30 at the C. P. Church by the Rev. H. R. Robinson, pastor, assisted by the Rev. H. J. Burroughs.
Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, by the side of his wife, Mrs. Dora Pitts Pylant, who died six years ago.
Mr. Pylant was the last surviving member of his family, the son of the late Gabriel Pylant and Nancy Tucker Pylant, pioneers of Charity, in Moore County. He was born in Joplin, Missouri, and at the age of four, his parents returned to Tennessee, their former home.
He had been a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church for 66 years, and for 24 years was a deacon in the Flintville Church, which he was instrumental in having built. He returned to Fayetteville, his former home, last fall, and had since lived here.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Hattie B. Sowell, of Fayetteville; two sons, H. C. Pylant, Franklin, Tennessee, and E. W. Pylant, Fayetteville; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; also several nieces and nephews.
