Gladys L. Pylant
Funeral services for Gladys L. Pylant will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Donny Custar officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home.
Mrs. Pylant was born March 22, 1914 at Lone Grove, and died Nov. 6, 2000, in a local health care facility.
She married Roy Pylant in Ardmore in 1972. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Pylant was a former fabric store manager and also a former employee of Reavis Drug. She was first a member of the Emmanuel Baptist, then became a member of Northwest Baptist Church. She was also a member of Mattie Bruce Chapter of Eastern Star and the Ardmore Village Association.
She is survived by a son, Monte, and his wife, Edith Wright, of Lone Grove; daughter, Linda, and her husband, Jim Chaffin, of Ardmore; sisters, Thelma Hamm, of Vernon, Texas, and Pauline Price, of Wilson; grandchildren Kathy and Larry Twyford, of Lone Grove, Tim and Angie Chaffin, of Greenbrier, Ark., Robin and Tim Beard, of Marlow; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Jason Twyford, Kyle and Derek Chaffin, Colten and Bailey Ann Beard; stepdaughters, Cindy Pylant of Broken Arrow, and Lou Ann Damron, of Ardmore. She was preceded in death by her parents, J. B. and Ida Price; a grandson, David Wright; and sisters, Ollie Wallace and Lois Kelty.
Bearers will be Jim Chaffin, Larry Twyford, Tim Chaffin, Tim Beard, Brandon Twyford and James Twyford. Honorary bearers will be Charlie Rutledge, Loyd Bowers and Kenneth French.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 tonight. |
