"Some History of Early-Day White Family" (This article was written approximately 1940's) - "On my recent visit to Mena, Gaylord Wright, George Francis Waters and I ( B. R. White) went to the old Wright Cemetery which is across the road from the old Ransom church. There are eight graves there. These are: Gaylord's grandparents, Dr. & Mrs. Thomas Wright, a daughter, Laurie Wright, and a daughter-in-law, Sallie Scott Wright; also my grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. B. C. Pyland, their daughter Melissa Pyland and a grandchild (a baby) Ida Edwards."
Subsequent information from Mrs. Doris Burt who lives in Mena: "Am sorry to report we could not locate the tombstones for Ben & Jane Pyland. We found where the cemetery is suppose to be, but there were no stones. The man who now owns the property said a map shows a cemetery there, but he has never found any signs of one. Another man who has lived in the area for a long time said he had seen stones there in the past. It's a grove of pine trees. Can't imagine why anyone would remove the stones as it's just woodland, but is being developed nearby."
