Jasper lived near Hubble Creek in the Noland Community. He later moved near the Stokes, Brockett Communities. He carried mail by horseback. He was also a farmer. Family legend has it that during his time in the army, Jasper would let his bread mold before he would eat it. In this way he was the only one in his regiment that didn't get sick.
